Get ready.......relax!

Located on the northwest of Majorca, about 60km from the capital of Palma, Cala San Vicente is one of the smallest and quietest resorts on the island. The region still has strong links with fishing and farming, and you’ll share the beach with the local fishermen mending their nets. Set in dramatic scenery with three beautiful beaches, the relaxed and welcoming atmosphere of the resort makes it perfect for couples and families with older children.

A calm and relaxing holiday in Cala San Vicente

As well as sunbathing and renting pedalos to ride in the calm seas, you can also enjoy Cala San Vicente’s mini golf course for a bit of family fun! For those with an interest in history, you can visit some of the manmade cave dwellings that date back to the Bronze Age.

A number of religious fiestas are held throughout the year, including the spectacular re-enactment of the 16th century battle between the Moors and the Christians that takes place in nearby Pollensa in the last week of July and involves the whole town.

The resort has three beaches, with Cala Barques the largest and most picturesque of the three. Cala Clara is the smallest and, further down the headland, you’ll find the soft sand of Cala Molins. With a pleasant beach bar and laid back atmosphere, it’s the most popular beach in the resort. The sparkling water is clear and each beach has fabulous views of the cliffs of the Formenter peninsula.

Pollensa old town, a few kilometres from Cala San Vicente, has a strong artistic and artisan culture. With its immense charm and a rich history, it’s the perfect place to have a wander and explore the unspoilt, historic buildings. Don’t forget to climb the 365 Cyprus tree lined steps to the tiny Calvari church and enjoy the breathtaking views as you look back over the town. You could also visit nearby Puerto Pollensa, one of Majorca’s finest resorts. With an excellent beach, marina, appealing main square and promenades, it’s worth a look during your holiday in Majorca.

There is a good selection of restaurants in the resorts offering Mediterranean and international cuisine. As you’d expect from the fishing village, there is plenty of freshly caught seafood to enjoy as well as traditional tapas dishes. Sip on a Spanish beer or freshly squeezed orange juice with your meal as you take in the beautiful views.

Holidays to Cala San Vicente are for those looking for a relaxing break in beautiful surroundings, and you won’t find late nightclubs or wild bars. However, there are plenty of excellent restaurants and chilled out bars to head to in the warm evenings. For other holiday locations in Majorca, click here.
