A celebration of seafood
With a rich history, and large appetite that revolves around the village’s fisherman, the small village of El Rompido is reminiscent of a British seaside town – just without the rain! The tiny village loves to celebrate its heritage and patron saint with a huge festival that takes place every July. Residents and tourist take to the streets in a huge party led by a procession of the Virgin del Carmen. The lovely lady is also the patron saint of fisherman, so El Rompido uses this as a fantastic excuse to get the grills going and to dine on the beach with fresh seafood snapped up that morning.
Find your space in the sand
The village is found within the town of Cartaya and in turn the province of Costa de la Luz. The beach itself hosts a number of water sports ranging from snorkeling to jet skiing and everything in between.
