Relax on a Trapezaki holiday
Meaning ‘small table’ in Greek, Trapezaki is a small-secluded beach lying at the foot of mount Aenos. Trapezaki offers a relaxing, tranquil getaway for couples seeking romance or friends wanting nothing more than a quiet beach, great weather and a warm welcome. Its locality to busier towns and resorts will mean that families holidaying in Trapezaki can also enjoy its hospitality while its calm, clear shallow waters are perfect for young children.
Whilst more water sports and nightlife can be found further along the coast in the nearby resorts of Lourdas and Pessada, Trapezaki beach offers the simple amenities of a traditional taverna and an old fashioned pedal boat. Quaint and charming, holidays in Trapezaki allow families and friends to spend valuable time together.
What to do in Trapezaki
Trapezaki is less an organised resort and more an eclectic area of villas and apartments. Nestled in the scenic hillside means that a wander from the beach up to Trapezaki’s luscious, green landscape allows you to take in the surrounding scenery of olive groves and cypress trees. Stop off at the local tavernas and restaurants to enjoy wines from the regions Robola vineyards perhaps alongside a dish of the fresh fish from the nearby fishing port. Alternatively, pop in to the bakers and mini market to stock up on local produce on your way back to your villa for a Trapezaki holiday banquet or dinner-a-deux.

If you cannot believe your luck in discovering such an unspoilt resort, then imagine the locals delight in living in such wonderful climes. Indeed every year they celebrate their good fortune by feasting to Madonna (The Virginal one). Every year on August 15th surrounding villagers travel to the Church of the Madonna in the village of Marcopoulo where a strange phenomenon is said to occur. It is believed that should the phenomenon not occur that year, bad luck will come to the island as indeed it did in 1940 and 1953.
We at lastminute.com would suggest bringing good luck to yourself and book your holiday to Trapezaki to see this annual phenomenon soon.
