Despite its tropical seclusion, the hotel is just eleven miles and thirty minutes away from Nassau International Airport. Even before you arrive at the hotel you’ll be taken in by Nassau, as it’s a tropical idyll right at the heart of the Bahamas. Once you’ve arrived at the hotel, you can relax with a view over the beach or the resort’s stunning gardens, or have a quick massage at the spa to recover from your long journey. There are a range of rooms, but more than half of the resort is made up of suites with sea views and the highest level of service that you would expect from a Sandals resort.

It’s unlikely that you’ll want to leave this stunning resort, and with ten restaurants available for you to choose from it’s unlikely that you’ll need to! From the beautiful art nouveau decor at the Baccarat restaurant to the elegant Japanese style of Kimonos, even the different decoration of the restaurants on offer is sure to please, not to mention the fabulous food. The Royal Bahamian Spa and Resort may once have been the home of the Balmoral Club, but it’s hard to see how this hotel could be any more fit for royalty.

As of January 1st 2012, every room will have been refurbished, so in addition to the standard in-room amenities, air conditioning, satellite TV, a stocked in-room bar and refrigerator, safe, telephone, a private bath and shower and a king size bed, there will also be Italian porcelain tile floors, Large flat screen TVs, French artiste silk area rugs, New bathrooms with beveled bisque tiled walls, Backlit make-up mirrors, 21 Butler suites – suites on the 5th & 6th floors have oversized balconies (18’x8’), Beautiful landscaped Zen Gardens and Walk out rooms.

Eating and drinking

There are ten restaurants to choose from at the hotel with cuisine varying from Mediterranean and Caribbean delicacies at Spices Restaurant to delicious Japanese cuisine at Kimonos. There’s room service available too, as well as traditional French cuisine at the Baccarat restaurant. There are nine bars in the hotel itself serving a range of premium drinks.

Hotel Location

The largest island in the Bahamas, Nassau is a tropical paradise. Much of its economy is based on tourism, so you won’t struggle to find everything you need, including interesting day trips. The Pirate Museum is a great morning or afternoon out, and there are a range of great trips out to sea on offer. If you want to get in a bit of shopping while you’re on holiday, make sure to check out the Straw Market, but don’t forget to haggle!
